Hometown memories

Saturday 03-13-10

I came to Jackson yesterday for the funeral of a dear friend, Johnny Bradford. It 'been a good neighbor to my parents for many years. It was hard to let go, but as they say, is now better than it was here. Yet it was not easy. It 'was undoubtedly the man of a man. Johnny Bradford has been and will always be a part of my life and that of many others who are.

I went to the Carlton Hotel, where I grew up in minutes. Rode and sawthroughout the year. There was a deluge of memories, emotions and thoughts in my head. There were many memories of great and terrible, as some not so great, and fear. I was last week, Jackson, and for some reason was unable to shake the "what if we moved" by the thoughts in my head. I have no reason to go back to Jackson or anywhere else in this issue. I could not get my head around. Some people say: "Come to Jackson,"while others have said, 'No way you want to go. "After yesterday, I concluded that, because they are at home where I live. I can peace and joy in my life in Tuscaloosa, Jackson, or Timbuktu.

I have a wonderful family, incredible and important. We support each other and love each other, at any time. As Paul said, I learned to be comfortable with or without. So, not moving anywhere. It 'nice to comeand all to visit and see the Aggies play. But I think we'll be in Tuscaloosa now. I learned an important lesson, though, and worth it. Home is where the heart is and my heart is with the Melissa and Gloria, no matter where we live.
